Licence terms

Version 1.0 · 18 September 2026. These terms apply to every script sold by Room Factory. The invoice you receive before payment repeats them.

1. What you buy

A licence to build and operate one escape room based on the script, at one venue in one city. You receive the full design document (PDF and editable DOCX). The copyright in the script stays with Room Factory; the room you build, your set and your props are yours.

2. Exclusivity

A ready-made script is licensed to one venue per city. Availability in your city is confirmed in writing before the invoice and reserved for five days for payment. A custom script written to order is exclusive to you and is never resold.

3. What you may do

• Translate the document into your language and adapt puzzles, props and texts to your space and your equipment.
• Rename the room for your market. Titles that overlap with film or book franchises must be renamed.
• Use the plot summary and your own photos of the room in your marketing.

4. What you may not do

• Open a second room on the same script at another address without a second licence.
• Resell, sublicense, publish or share the document, in whole or in part, including with franchisees.
• Present the script as your own authorship in trade or competition entries.

5. Delivery and support

Ready-made scripts are delivered within 48 hours after payment is received. Custom scripts take about three weeks and include two revision rounds. Questions from your builder and electronics contractor are answered by email for 30 days after delivery.

6. Refunds

Because a script is information, there is no refund once the document has been delivered. If the document does not match its catalogue card, we replace it with another script of the same tier within 14 days of delivery.

7. Payment and invoicing

Prices are in euro. An invoice is issued before payment; payment by bank transfer or card. VAT is applied according to the buyer’s country and VAT status.

8. Liability

The script is a design document. Building and running the room, including safety, fire and accessibility compliance, is your responsibility and that of your contractors.
